2019/12/28 Emergency transfer of patient with epilepsy in Magong City

Squadron 2 of NASC’s 3rd Wing stationed at Kaohsiung International Airport received a telephone request from NASC’s command center at 03:40 on the 28th, where a 30 year old female patient (Ms. Tsai) who lived in Magong City (Penghu) suffered from epilepsy and required an emergency transfer to Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital as local health center did not have adequate medical resources. Upon receipt of the mission, the crew immediately took the field and received mission briefing in front of the helicopter. The crew started the engine at 03:55, took off at 04:05, headed towards Makong City at 1,000 feet above the ground, and landed at Makong Airport at 05:10. After picked up 1 patient, 1 family member of the patient and 1 medical personnel, the helicopter then took off at 05:18 and headed towards Kaohsiung International Airport at 1,000 feet above the ground. After landed at Kaohsiung International Airport at 05:40, the patient was passed onto the medical personnel and was transferred to Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital for treatment. The crew turned off the engine at 05:45 and the mission was completed successfully.
