Minister of the Interior who visited NASC’s Taitung station encouraged all NASC members to uphold the spirit of striving for perfection and reminded NASC to complete the construction project time

Minister of the Interior Hsu Kuo-yung made a special trip to NASC stationed in Taitung on June 20. Minister Hsu not only paid attention to the construction progress of the new station, but also encouraged all staffs to continuously enhance their professional skills with a positive spirit of excellence. In this way, all missions will be executed successfully and safely.

Minister Hsu pointed out that, impacted by global warming, severe climate changes often result in catastrophic impacts. The construction of a new NASC station in Taitung was launched to enhance the air rescue capacity of eastern Taiwan. Upon completion of this project, not only will the flight crew be offered with a good preparation and standby environment, but also NASC will be able to increase the number of Black Hawk helicopters, offering local people high-quality rescue services. With the effort of NASC and Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior, the construction project has been contracted out and therefore requires the effort of the entire construction team. Apart from the project quality, controlling the project progress also plays an important part. It is hoped that the project will be completed with an excellent quality within the deadline, and will be offered to the NASC.

Minister Hsu expressed that President Tsai always remembered how NASC went deep into the disaster area to implement rescue missions regardless the harsh environment. He further said that, with the effort of the former General of NASC Tung and current General of NASC Ching on the adjustments to NASC members’ salary and treatments, aircrews would have their salary and treatment largely increase as an encouragement starting from July 1 of this year.

Minister Hsu said that he was very confident about the performance of NASC and encouraged all NASC members to optimize the teamwork spirit; ameliorate task combination training, implement maintenance strategy; abide by work rules; follow standard operating standards; and conduct pre-flight checks in order to establish an all-weather, three-dimensional and highly maneuverable air rescue system.

Minister Hsu also delivered special thanks to Legislator Liu Chao-Hao, who also visited NASC’s Taitung station to understand the progress of the new construction project. Minister Hsu also invited Legislator Liu to join the groundbreaking ceremony of this project on July 23.
