2013-9-1 Transfer of a Patient from Lanyu to the Main Island for EMS

Lanyu patient: 董O雄 (male, was born in 1960) suffered from suspected stroke was in a critical condition that must be transferred to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch for treatment. 
NASC commanded the 2nd team of the 3rd battalion stationed in Kaohsiung to dispatch AS-365 Dolphin Helicopter number NA-105 to implement the Lanyu EMS mission. As soon as the standby crew received the notice, the mission was immediately implemented with pre-flight prompts firstly performed. The helicopter located at Kaohsiung International Airport had its engine turned on at 21:05 and took off at 21:09 towards Lanyu. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Lanyu at 21:50. At 22:00, it then took off and headed to Taitung. As soon as it landed at Taitung Airport at 22:25, ground medical personnel immediately transferred the patient to hospital. This outlying islands EMS mission was successfully completed.
