2013-9-9 Transfer of a Patient from Lanyu to the Main Island for EMS

The 2nd team of the NASC 3rd battalion stationed in Kaohsiung International Airport received a notification: A Lanyu citizen 施O山 (male, was born in 1940), suffered from stroke was in a critical condition that an EMS was required to transfer the patient to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch on the main island for treatment. 
After received the notification, the standby flight crew immediately dispatched AS-365 Dolphin Helicopter number NA-105 to implement the Lanyu EMS mission. After performed pre-flight prompts, the crew turned on the helicopter engine today (the 9th) at 23:25 and took off from Kaohsiung International Airport at 23:30 towards Lanyu. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Lanyu at 00:15 the next day (the 10th). It then took off at 00:20 and flew to Taitung with the fastest speed. After it landed at Taitung Airport at 00:55, the patient was transported to hospital by ground medical personnel and this outlying islands EMS mission was successfully completed.
