The 3rd team of the 2nd NASC Battalion stationed in Taichung CCK received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 2nd) at 08:35: An angler located in a river close to Huisun Forest Park was stuck in mountains as he could not walk due to gout. As he was having hypothermia status, an EMS transfer was required immediately.
The standby crew immediately completed related works and took off at 08:48. As the ceiling in mountains was too low, the pilot decided to make a detour and move upwards along the river to implement an aerial survey on Beigang River. The helicopter flew along the river and reached Hu-Chu Elementary School to pick up the guide. Based on the guide’s instruction, the rescue target was eventually discovered inside the river located on the northwest side of Huisun Forest Park. As the gap of the trench was too big, the patient could only be rescued by using the hoist system. The patient was successfully rescued at 09:35 and transported to an open ground of Taiwan Sugar in Puli based on the instruction of the NASC Command Center. The local fire department then took over the following job and this mission was successfully completed.
