2013-10-13 The Nenggao Mountain Emergency Transport Mission for the Mountain Climber with a Sprained Ankle

A mountain female climber 蔡OO had her leg injured around the main peak of Nenggao Mountain in Renai Township, Nantou County, on the 11th. Her teammates carried her in turns to a location close to Taiwan Pond, camped there and waited for rescue. The NASC then dispatched a helicopter this morning to rescue the patient and took her to hospital for treatment. 
A mountain climbing team of 21 people from Taipei City went to hike Nenggao Mountain. One the female member (蔡OO, 35 years old) accidentally sprained her ankle and was unable to talk. NASC received a request in the evening on the 11th to dispatch a helicopter for implementing an air rescue mission on the 12th. As it rained a lot in mountain area on the 12th and there was a thick fog in the afternoon, the helicopter was unable to complete the mission. 
Today (the 13th) the weather in mountain area became sunny and the B-234 Helicopter number NA-603 of the 1st team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Tainan was dispatched to implement the rescue mission. At 08:44, the flight crew successfully moved the patient into the cabin by using the hoisting system. Later at 09:03, the helicopter landed at the parking apron of Ren’ai Township in Nantou Township and the Nantou County Ren’ai fire fighting team immediately transferred the patient to hospital for treatment.
