A patient from Kinmen 董O雪 (female, was born in 1932) suffered from ischemic colitis was in a critical condition that needed to be urgently transferred to the Taipei Veterans General Hospital on the mainland for treatment.
NASC commanded the 2nd team of the 3rd battalion stationed in Kaohsiung to dispatch AS-365 Dolphin Helicopter number NA-104 to implement the Kinmen EMS mission. As soon as the standby crew received the notice, the mission was immediately implemented with pre-flight prompts firstly performed. The helicopter located at Kaohsiung International Airport had its engine turned on at 02:15 and took off at 02:23 towards Kinmen. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Kinmen at 03:40. At 04:05, it then took off and headed to Taipei Veterans General Hospital. As soon as it landed at Taipei Veterans General Hospital at 06:15, the ground medical personnel immediately transferred the patient to hospital. This outlying islands EMS mission was successfully completed.
