2013-10-15 An Emergency Transport Mission for Ludao Citizen suffered from Intracranial Hemorrhage

The 3rd team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Taitung Fengnian received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center at 02:50 today (the 15th): A Ludao citizen 李OO (male, was born in 1972) suffered from intracranial hemorrhage caused by car accident was delivered to Ludao Health Office for first aid. As the office lacked of medical facilities and the patient was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch was requested. 
The standby flight crew immediately completed related works and dispatched UH-1H helicopter number NA-512 to implement the mission. The helicopter took off at 03:15 towards Ludao with a nurse on board and landed at Ludao Airport at 03:35. After picked up 1 patient and 1 family member, it took off from Ludao at 03:40 and landed at Taitung at 04:00. The patient was transported to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch by the ground ambulance for treatment and the mission was successfully completed.
