2013-10-21 A Fisherman in Gongliao of New Taipei City Accidently Fell into the Ocean and an Emergency Search and Rescue Mission with Hoist Work was requested

The 1st team of the 1st NASC battalion stationed in Songshan received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center at 09:40 today: A male fisherman on the coast of Yingge Stone in Gongliao in New Taipei City fell to the ocean and an emergency sea search and rescue mission was requested. As soon as the standby crew received the notice, the mission was immediately implemented with pre-flight prompts firstly performed. After the helicopter took off from Songshan Airport at 10:05 emergently, it then headed to the direction of Xizhi with the maximum horsepower. After helicopter arrived in the target zone at 10:20, it lowered to 200 feet and started to search for the fisherman on the coast and surrounding coastal waters. At 10:40, the crew found the fisherman 王O智 (male, 44 years old), who was located in 2 nautical miles away from the coast and weaving to the helicopter. The pilot then requested the engineer to light smoke marker bomb to mark the location and the CGA member 蔡O達 then implemented the rescue work by using the hoist system. The patient hoist work was completed at 10:45 and the CGA member confirmed that王O智 had a stable life signal apart from a minor hypothermia symptom. The helicopter returned to Taipei Songshan Airport at 11:01 and the patient was transported to hospital by the ambulance for treatment. This mission was successfully completed.
