2013-10-26 Transfer of a Patient from Lanyu to the Main Island for EMS

The 2nd team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Kaohsiung Airport received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 26th): A Lanyu citizen, 黃O發 (was born in 1951), was suffering from respiratory failure was in an unconscious state. As the patient was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch was requested. 
After received the command, the team immediately dispatched AS-365 Dolphin Helicopter number NA-104 to implement the Lanyu EMS mission. The standby crew immediately performed pre-flight prompts after received the notification and took off the engine at 11:40 and took off from Kaohsiung International Airport at 11:45 toward Lanyu. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Lanyu at 12:25. It took from Lanyu at 12:30 and headed back to Taitung. After landed at Taitung Airport at 13:00, the patient was transported to hospital by ground medical personnel and this outlying EMS mission was successfully completed.
