2013-12-8 Transfer of a Patient from Magong to the Main Island for EMS

The 2nd team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Kaohsiung Airport received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 8th): A Magong citizen 歐O平 (male, 84 years old) was suffering from myocardial infarction. As the patient was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital on the main island was required. 
After receive the command, the team immediately dispatched AS-365 helicopter number NA-104 to implement the Magong EMS mission. After performed pre-flight prompts, the standby crew immediately turned on the helicopter engine at 16:45 and took off from Kaohsiung International Airport at 16:50 towards Magong. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Magong at 17:25. The helicopter then took off again from Magong at 17:30 and headed back to Kaohsiung. After it landed at Kaohsiung International Airport at 18:05, the patient was transported to Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital by the ambulance and this outlying island EMS mission was successfully completed.
