2013-12-17 Transfer of a Patient from Lanyu to the Main Island for EMS

A Lanyu patient 楊O月 (female, 56 years old) was suffering from overdose. As the patient was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch on the main island was required immediately. 
The NASC Duty Command Center placed an order today (the 17th) at 09:50, requesting the 2nd team of the NASC 3rd battalion stationed in Kaohsiung to dispatch AS-365 Dolphin Helicopter number NA-104 to implement the Lanyu EMS mission. After received the notification, the standby flight crew immediately turned on the helicopter engine at 10:00 and took off from Kaohsiung International Airport at 10:10 on the direction of Lanyu. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Lanyu Airport at 10:50 to pick up the patient, family member and nurse totally 3 people. After all the passengers got on board and the helicopter took off again at 11:00 towards Taitung Airport with the fastest speed. After landed at Taitung Airport at 11:25, the passengers were transported to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch by the ambulance and this outlying islands EMS mission was successfully completed.
