2014-1-4 Transfer of a Patient from Kinmen to the Main Island for EMS

The 1st team of the 2nd NASC battalion received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center by fax at 10:05 today (the 4th): A patient of Kinmen Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare 楊O盆 (female, was born in 1947) was suffering from suspected ruptured esophageal or gastric varices caused by cirrhosis. As the hospital lacked of medical facilities, an EMS to transfer the patient to Taipei Veterans General Hospital was requested. After received the notification, the NA-107 flight crew turned on the helicopter engine at 10:15 and took off from Taichung CCK at 10:25. After landed at Kinmen Airport at 11:30 and picked up the patient, family member and medical personnel totally 3 people, the helicopter had its engine restarted at 12:00, took off at 12:10 and landed at Taipei Veterans General Hospital at 14:03. The patient was then took care by medical personnel and the NASC team had successfully completed the mission.
