| At 14:00 on 5 January 2014, the NASC of Ministry of the Interior received a request from the Pingtung County Fire Department to implement the missing paraglider search and rescue mission in mountain area of Wutai and Saijia. The NASC Duty Command Center immediately informed the 1st team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Tainan to implement the search and rescue mission. After received the order, the team immediately dispatched UH-1H helicopter number NA-505 to implement the mission. After took off at 14:25 with 2 SSRT members, the helicopter discovered the target in mountain area of Saijia (around 1,900 ft) at 15:30. At 15:42, the crew successfully moved the paraglider into the cabin by using the hoist system and transported the man to the Paragliding Club at 15:50. The NASC crew had successfully completed the mission as the man was passed to personnel from the Pingtung County Fire Department and Paragliding Club after he got of the helicopter. |
