A Ludao citizen 李OO (female, was born in 1931) suffered from senile pneumonia was delivered to local Health Office for first aid. As the outlying island lacked of medical facilities and the patient was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Taitung Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare was requested.
The 3rd team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Taitung received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center at 16:30 today (on 11 January 2014) to implement the Ludao air transfer mission. After received the order, the standby crew immediately completed relevant works and dispatched UH-1H helicopter number NA-512 to implement the mission. The helicopter took off at 16:45 and headed directly t Ludao with a nurse on board. It then arrived in Ludao Airport at 17:05 to pick up a patient and a family member. At 17:08, the helicopter took off from Ludao and landed at Taitung Airport at 17:28. The ambulance on the ground then immediately transported the patient to Taitung Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare for treatment. The mission was successfully completed.
