2014-1-15 Emergency Transfer of a Ludao Citizen suffered from Metastasis of Lung Cancer and Breathing Difficulties

The 3rd team of the 3rd NASC battalion stationed in Taitung Fengnian received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 15th): Ludao citizen陳OO (male, was born in 1969) suffered from breathing difficulties due to metastasis of lung cancer. Although the patient was delivered to Ludao Health Office for first aid, an EMS to transfer the patient to Mackay Memorial Hospital Taitung Branch was requested as the office lacked of medical facilities and the patient was in a critical condition. After received the phone call from the NASC Duty Command Center at 17:39, the standby crew immediately completed related works and dispatched UH-1H helicopter number NA-512 to implement the mission. The helicopter took off at 17:40 and headed to Ludao directly with a nurse on board. It landed at Ludao Airport at 18:00 to pick up 1 patient and 1 family member. At 18:05, it took off from Ludao and landed at Taitung Airport at 18:30. The patient was transported to Taitung Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare for treatment. The mission was successfully completed.
