2014-3-1 Transfer of a Patient from Kinmen to the Main Island for EMS

Kinmen patient: 翁○恒 (male, 57 years old), suffered from thoracic aortic dissection was in a critical condition, an EMS to transfer the patient to Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital on the main island was required. 
The 2nd team of the 3rd NASC battalion received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 1st) at 10:45 to implement the Kinmen Emergency Transfer Mission. The standby crew immediately implemented the mission with pre-flight prompts firstly performed. The helicopter located at Kaohsiung International Airport had its engine turned on at 10:55 and took off at 11:00 towards Kinmen. Based on the spirit of saving lives, the flight crew travelled with the fastest speed and landed at Kinmen at 12:10. The helicopter had its engine turned off at 12:15 to refuel and to pick up the patient, family member and medical personnel, totally 4 people. After all the members got on board at 12:30, the flight crew turned on the engine again at 12:35 and took off at 12:45, headed back to Kaohsiung Airport. After the helicopter landed at Kaohsiung Airport at 14:00, the patient was immediately transferred to Kaohsiung Armed Forces General Hospital by the ambulance for treatment. This outlying islands EMS mission was successfully completed.
