2014-3-15 Transfer of a Patient from Kinmen to the Main Island for EMS

The 1st team of the 2nd NASC battalion received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (15th) at 20:30 (fax information to be provided afterwards): A patient of Kinmen Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare, 董O耀 (male, was born in 1952), was suffered from acute cerebral infarction. As Kinmen Hospital lacked of medical facilities, an EMS transfer was requested to transfer the patient to Taipei Veterans General Hospital for treatment. 
After received the notification, the standby crew of NA-107 turned on the engine at 20:35 and took off from Taitung CCK Airport at 20:45. When the helicopter was on the W6 flight route at 21:40, it received another notification from the NASC Duty Command Center that a patient of Kinmen Hospital, 周O緯 (male, was born in 2005) suffered from traumatic left subretinal hemorrhage required an EMS transfer to Taipei Veterans General Hospital. The helicopter landed at Kinmen hospital at 22:00 to refuel and to pick up these 2 patients, 2 family members and 1 doctor. At 23:00, the flight crew turned on the engine and took off at 23:15, headed back to Taipei Songshan International Airport. The helicopter landed at Taipei Songshan International Airport at 01:00 on the 16th and the patients were transferred to Taipei Veterans General Hospital by the ambulance for treatment. The mission was successfully completed.
