2014-3-31 Transfer of a Patient from Kinmen to the Main Island for EMS

The 1st team of the 2nd NASC battalion received a notification from the NASC Duty Command Center today (the 31st) at 10:25 (fax information to be provided afterwards): A patient of Kinmen Hospital of Ministry of Health Welfare, 張O凱, was suffered from acute myocardial infarction. As Kinmen Hospital lacked of medical facilities, an EMS was applied to transfer the patient to Taipei Veterans General Hospital for treatment. 
After received the notification, the standby crew of NA-110 turned on the engine at 10:35 and took off from Taichung CCK Airport at 10:45. The helicopter landed at Kinmen Airport at 12:05 and had its engine turned off to refuel. As the weather condition in Kinmen was unfavorable, the flight crew stayed in the ground and waited for the next order. With 1 patient, 1 family member and 1 nurse on board, the helicopter had its engine turned on at 14:20 and took off at 14:30, headed to Songshan Airport. The helicopter landed at 16:16 and had its engine turned off at 16:20. Then the patient was transferred to Taipei Veterans General Hospital by the ambulance for treatment and this mission was successfully completed.
