Member of (Special) Offshore Flotilla 11, Coastal Patrol Directorate General, Coast Guard Administration, Executive Yuan
1. Mr. Yang has been very active in learning rescue skills, risk assessment and crew and resource management ever since he joined the airborne rescue force in 2008. He always has a session with the crew after every sortie on how to improve in the next mission. He is highly recognized by coworkers and supervisors.
2. Oct 8 2013, a sampan capsized at Wanhaisian Fishing Port, Keelung. A person was rescued by air lifting.
3. The following missions were requested in 2016: rescue at sea: 4 sorties and 10 people
(1) Mar 10 2016, the T.S. Taipei was aground 0.5kn off the shore of Shiman and rescue is requested. 7 were rescued by air lifting.
(2) Jun 2 2016, a passenger on board of the SuperStar Virgo had a heart condition and rescue was requested. 1 person was rescued.
(3) Jun 17 2016, a passenger on board of the SuperStar Aquarius felt sick due to low blood pressure and rescue was requested. 1 person was rescued.
(4) Jun 20 2016, a passenger on board of the Voyager of the Seas had a stroke and rescue was requested. 1 person was rescued.
4. Mr. Yang has performed numerous rescue missions at sea showing no fear of danger. He works together with his crew to perform his duty, which is to save lives, and he does it very well.
