2019/05/24 NASC implemented an emergency medical mission to transfer a comatose patient who fell off from a height in Matsu

Today (the 24th) at 15:25, Squadron 1 of the NASC 1st Wing stationed in Taipei Songshan Airport received an emergency call from the NASC Duty Command Center, requesting it to rescue a male comatose patient (Mr. Lu, born in 1946) who fell off from a height in Mazu. As Mazu Hospital lacks medical resources, this patient needed an emergency treatment. An EMS transfer request was therefore made to have this patient transferred back to the main Taiwan island for treatment.

Upon receiving the order from the command, the Squadron immediately dispatched a AS-365N Dolphin Helicopter numbered NA-102 to implement the mission. After pre-flight prompts were given, the crew soon turned on the engine at 15:35 and took off at 15:45. The helicopter flew along MT2 route at 1,500 feet of altitude with its maximum horsepower and then landed at Matsu Nangan Airport at 16:35 to pick up 1 patient, 1 family member thereof and 2 medical personnel, totally 4 people. At 16:49, the helicopter took off from Matsu Nangan Airport and flew along the same route at 1,000 feet of altitude. At 17:48, the helicopter landed at Taipei Songshan Airport. The patient was handed over to ground medical personnel and be transferred to National Taiwan University Hospital for treatment. The EMS mission was completed successfully.
