In order to exploit the advantages of airborne rescue resources, the Executive Yuan approved the program of consolidate all governmental aviations. The program merges the Airborne Squadron of National Police Agency, the Preparatory Office of the Airborne Fire Fighting Squadron of National Fire Agency, the Aviation Team of Civil Aeronautics Administration of Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Air Patrol Squadron of the Coast Guard Administration into a single agency, the National Airborne Service Corps¡]NASC¡^on March 10,2004. The NASC is responsible for five major tasks¡GSearch and Rescue, Disaster Relief, Emergency Medical Services, Reconnaissance and Patrol, and Transportation.

 ¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@Duties
1. Plan, coordinate, and implement airborne services;
2. Develop and improve airborne services;
3. Plan and implement flight operations, aircraft engineering services, and logistic support
¡@ for airborne services;
4. Plan and implement training programs for airborne services;
5. Provide support for air rescue actions in natural disasters and severe accidents;
6. Provide support for air rescue actions in mountains and water rescue actions on rivers
¡@ and sea;
7. Provide air ambulance services for emergency medical cases, such as patient transfer and
¡@ organ transplants;
8. Observe disasters; carry out air surveillance and tracking of criminal offenders in
¡@emergency situations, sea (coast) reconnaissance and patrol, surveillance of the
¡@traffic, air patrol reporting, investigation of the environmental pollutions, and air
¡@survey and aerial photography for the National Land Comprehensive Development Plan;
9. Provide support for air transportation of rescue (survey) personnel, equipment, and goods;
10. Perform air rescue exercise, training, and other related actions
11. Provide other air support service.
